DUA LIPA is winning at life right now.
Her Glastonbury headline slot on Friday went down a storm, and she didn’t stop grinning the following morning as I spoke to her about how brilliant her performance was.
Dua Lipa will perform a massive headline show at Wembley Stadium next June following her Glastonbury set[/caption]But the high is only just starting for Dua, as we can reveal the pop star is preparing to announce her biggest ever show in the coming days.
Insiders told us that she will perform a massive headline show at Wembley Stadium next June, following in the footsteps of pop greats Taylor Swift and Madonna.
The gig will see 90,000 devoted fans flock to North London to hear Dua belt out some of her biggest hits from her new album Radical Optimism, in what will no doubt be a bloody epic show.
A source said: “This really is a ‘pinch me’ moment for Dua.
“Her last tour was as good as sold out, but it was an arena tour. To make the jump to stadiums is amazing, especially when she’s only on her third album.
“It’s looking like she will play one date at Wembley in June and a full-scale tour across America.
“It’s going to be quite an emotional moment, especially as Dua has been working towards something like this since she moved to London (from her native Kosovo) aged just 15.
“She now only lives a few miles from the stadium, so it will really be a coming home moment for her.”
Dua looked on top of the world when we saw her hanging out at Glastonbury on Saturday.
She spent the afternoon with her friends and family, before heading out into the crowds with her boyfriend Callum Turner.
Despite being one of the UK’s biggest pop exports, Dua — with Bizarre’s Ellie Henman — was able to stay under the radar with Callum.
‘Two years in one’
Apart from the moment she was stopped by supermodel Cara Delevingne, who I overheard telling Dua how much she loved her set.
Dressed all in black, she headed off to party at midnight alongside the hundreds of thousands of other revellers who have descended on the Glasto site for what is undoubtedly one of the best parties on Earth.
Still in the honeymoon period, Dua and Callum shared a jug of Pimm’s and kept snogging in front of revellers, with him asking her: “Give us a kiss.”
Yesterday, we spotted Dua out among the crowds again before she headed to the Pyramid Stage to watch Shania Twain perform.
Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis has now confirmed the festival will take a break in 2026, while acts are already in talks to perform next year.
She said: “We’re taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest.
“The festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan because you almost have to fit two years into one. We’re already in talks with some acts.”
Give it five or so years and I am sure Dua will be back on the Pyramid Stage — bigger and better than ever.
If that is even possible . . .
