DEVASTATED Britney Spears is secretly trying to patch up her relationship with her two sons after losing her battle to make her “dad pay for her conservatorship,” according to sources.

Britney has been attempting to “build bridges” with her boys after a “perplexing and stress-filled few weeks,” sources told The U.S. Sun.

Sean Preston and Jayden James are currently living happily with dad Kevin Federline in Hawaii.

The singer fears that she “may lose touch forever with the boys,” after a turbulent last few years.

“This legal issue and loss with her dad has made her want to patch up her problems with the kids,” the source said.

Britney is also said to be “numb” after she lost hope of making her dad, Jamie Spears, be held publicly accountable for his control of her life for over a decade.

The source, based in Las Vegas, revealed, “Britney has seen her world turned on its head in recent weeks, because her hopes were dashed of fighting her father.

“Britney has felt like her voice has been taken away again because she thought that a trial against her dad could show the world how she felt mistreated and cheated.

“But now that possibility has come to an end, she has been reflecting on rebuilding her family, or at least trying.

“Her relationship with her sons has not been non-existent in the last couple of years.

“But she wants to try again and get them back in her life. There is a sense that after feeling let down by her father she doesn’t want her boys to ever feel that way with her.

“She has reached out to spend some time with them over there and move forward.

“They have kept their distance from her, preferring to be with Kevin and Victoria, but Britney is open to making peace with everyone and building into a modern-day family.”

Victoria Prince is Kevin’s wife – they got married in 2013.

“In recent weeks she [Britney] has spoken more about making sure the boys really know how much ‘mom misses them,’” the source added.

Another friend of Britney, based in Los Angeles, added, “Being a mother was the most important thing for Britney for a long time, and so many issues have got in the way of that for her over the years.

“Deep in her heart she always wanted to be close to the boys and does have serious long-term trauma from being separated from them.”

Britney’s ex Kevin revealed in an interview back in 2022 that her two boys had not seen their mom for months – saying they had decided not to go to her wedding to Sam Asghari, whom she has since split from.

Tensions between Britney and her boys were heightened when they asked their mom to stop stripping off and dancing in videos posted on Instagram.

Britney hit back, saying she was “saddened” by their comments and insisted she “gave them everything.”

On Sunday, Britney deleted her Instagram account hours after posting an emotional rant about being “hurt” by her family.

In the last week, Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart announced that the “bitter” conservatorship case with her estranged father Jamie had ended.

Britney had wanted to fight her father in court over payments made from her accounts to run her life, as well as his control during the 13-year conservatorship.

Britney claimed during a June 2021 court hearing that her father was an abuser rather than protector.

Her claims included that she was forced into a mental health facility and therapy sessions, prescribed lithium, and had her sexual life controlled – without any recourse.

Jamie fired back, claiming that he had protected his daughter as she battled mental health issues and many other secret problems.

Rosengart issued a statement about litigation noting, “Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete.”

However away from court, Britney is reportedly “numb” that “somehow her dad never seems to answer to anything I claim about him,” a source said.

Britney has felt like her voice has been taken away again, because she thought that a trial against her dad could show the world how she felt mistreated and cheated.

The Toxic singer, 42, picked Rosengart who had vowed “to hold Jamie to account for Britney.”

Now, the insider claims Jamie will be paid over $2.2 million by Britney and Rosengart will receive a similar amount for his fees.

The source, who has worked with Britney for many years, stated, “Britney told Matthew that she wanted justice and her day in court wither dad.

“She urged him to push the case claiming that Jamie effectively stole money from her while running the estate as her conservator for 13 years.”

‘REALLY P****D OFF’

“Certainly the immediate thought was that Britney didn’t want to cover the legal costs of Jamie being removed as a conservator, which really p****d her off,” the source continued.

“Britney was always under the impression that Matthew would file papers demanding her dad explain all the actions he took on her behalf and money he was paid and that somehow the court would see her side.

“The reality is that the legal system on a case doesn’t work like that. Jamie’s lawyers have full rights to ask her for depositions and access to her medical paperwork, which could be discussed in open court.”

The U.S. Sun reached out to a representative for Britney for comment.

Britney Spears' conservatorship timeline

In September 2021, Britney’s case returned to a Los Angeles courtroom where Judge Brenda Penny made a number of bombshell rulings, following her father’s decision to end the conservatorship the month prior.

She ruled to rid Jamie of his daughter’s conservatorship, however, it did not mean the end of the conservatorship altogether.

Speaking in court, Judge Brenda Penny said: “Based on what I read in the filings, and I read everything. I do believe the suspension of Jamie Spears is in the best interest of Britney Spears.

“The current situation is unattainable. The court finds the toxic environment Jamie Spears has created needs to be removed today.”

Following the judge’s decision, a temporary conservator was put in Jamie’s place for about a month.

In early November 2021, Jamie was back in court filing new legal documents that show he’s done fighting.

Jamie had previously demanded $2 million in exchange for stepping down but documents at the time showed that he was not seeking any further compensation.

On November 12, Judge Penny ruled in favor of the pop star, removing Jamie from the position of conservator without requiring any further mental examination from Britney.

“A trial could have seen some of the most tragic and troublesome moments in Britney’s life discussed in court and presented to the world,” the source added.

“Matthew was protective of her, knowing from their long conversations that she feels trauma, anxiety, and depression recalling moments when she felt her father wronged her.

“After months of back and forth with very little movement, it became clear neither side would budge. And as the tension escalated, a legal settlement was reached.”

‘TENSION ESCALATED’

Britney’s conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.

In summer 2021, Jamie, through his lawyers, outlined how Britney suffered from such severe mental health woes and addiction issues that they were hidden from fans for over a decade.

In a 15-page court file, Jamie maintains his actions “saved” his daughter from “disaster.”

Lawyer Vivien Thoreen wrote the files on behalf of Jamie, detailing the severity of Britney’s issues.

“If the public knew all the facts of Ms. Spears’ personal life, not only her highs but also her lows, all of the addiction and mental health issues that she has struggled with, and all of the challenges of the Conservatorship, they would praise Mr. Spears for the job he has done, not vilify him,” the filing said.

“But the public does not know all the facts, and they have no right to know, so there will be no public redemption for Mr. Spears.”
