Dr. Lara Devgan, who has worked with many household names including Kim Kardashian, spoke to The U.S. Sun about her own routine for combating fine lines and wrinkles.

The expert, who has her own skincare line, broke down all the items she swears by for her anti-aging efforts.

She explained that an effective anti-aging routine needs to focus on more than just the face.

FORGOTTEN AREA

“We tend to prioritize the skin on our faces a lot but people often forget the skin on their neck, decolletage, chest, and back of their hands,” she said.

“Those areas are naturally thinner and show signs of aging earlier than the skin on our face.”

She recommended consistently applying skincare products to those thinner areas of the skin as well.

The health professional also emphasized the importance of having a good balanced diet, exercising and building muscle mass, managing stress, and limiting sugar intake to prevent glycation on the skin.

She also recommended incorporating strength training and weight-lifting exercises into your workout routine.

“As we age, our bones naturally lose density and mass, therefore, losing the natural shape or structure of our faces,” she explained.

SLEEP TIGHT

Dr. Devgan added that she does her best to sleep on her back every night to prevent wrinkles from forming on her face.

“I highly recommend sleeping on your back to prevent any friction, pulling, and tugging of the skin,” she said.

“Adding on to that, when you wash your face in the morning or at night, please be gentle with your skin and do not tug and pull your face with the towel you use.”

PRODUCT PLAY-BY-PLAY

Of course, with a skincare line of her own, she has her product routine down pat.

“I love to exfoliate with the microdermabrasion scrub [from my brand] to get the smooth texture which also helps clogged pores and comedones,” she said.

“Following up on that, I particularly love our peptide eye cream and hyaluronic serum in the morning for improvement of skin quality and fine lines,” she said.

Vitamin CBE Ferulic, $145

Retinol Bakuchiol, $300

Resveratrol Night Cream, $220

“Our peptide eye cream contains caffeine, green tea, and vitamin B5 to give the under eyes moisture and suppleness.”

She said it can also help depuff and fix the under-eye bags.

At night she uses three more products, including her retinol bakuchiol serum and Resveratrol Night Cream, which is made with green tea, peptides, and ceramides.

The product helps to support a healthy barrier function, gives you the antioxidants for the night, and pairs perfectly with retinol or an exfoliant.

“You wake up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and glowing,” the doctor said.

Her vitamin CBE ferulic serum “is a perfect pairing with sunscreen to boost the efficacy of the sunscreen filters and further protect your skin from the sun,” she went on.

When used alongside sunscreen as part of a balanced skincare routine, the product “can help with the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, and under-eye bags, while maintaining glowing healthy skin.”
