Babcock broke down the benefits behind each of his recommendations.

He also offered budget-friendly alternatives to each of his helpful hacks.

FENCING

Babcock first highlighted the importance of fencing in your yard.

“Adding fencing can offer privacy and functionality for families with kids or pets, and curb appeal,” he explained.

He pointed out that there are a range of fencing options available at a variety of price points.

Lower-budget options, he said, include bamboo or repurposed wood.

“If you have a higher budget, both vinyl and metal fencing are durable and attractive,” he said.

“Alternatively, you could plant shrubs or trees for privacy and greenery over time.”

PATHWAYS

Babcock also shared the best way to define different spaces in your yard.

First, he broke down a budget-friendly technique that a lot of homeowners opt for.

“Create pathways with gravel, mulch, or stepping stones,” he recommended.

“If you have a higher budget and want a more polished look, you could use pavers and do stamped concrete or a brick walkway,” he said.

Finally, Babcock recommended making a “beautiful addition” with a practical use.

He suggested placing a flower or vegetable bed somewhere in your garden.
